Göttingen
HPC LOCATION GÖTTINGEN
At the Göttingen location, GWDG takes responsibility for operating the HPC.NDS system. GWDG – Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen - is an established IT service provider for the University of Göttingen and the Max Planck Society (MPG) and is not only responsible for operating local Tier-3 HPC systems for these institutions, but is also a central player in national and supra-regional high-performance computing. Among other things, it operates the NHR systems Emmy and Grete as well as HPC resources for DLR (German Aerospace Center), the KISSKI project and is part of the Hammerhai consortium. This long-standing experience in providing and operating HPC infrastructure for science makes GWDG the ideal partner for the HPC.NDS project and the Lower Saxony Digital Science Support Space (DS³) as part of Hochschule.digital Niedersachsen (HdN).With its expertise in managing complex computing environments, providing Research Software Engineering (RSE) and supporting scientific workflows, GWDG is ideally positioned to provide further resources in the context of HPC.NDS and DS³. Through its integration into national and international HPC networks, it guarantees reliable, needs-based and sustainable infrastructure – and thus contributes significantly to strengthening scientific research in Lower Saxony.

Test Account for Early Adopters
Interested researchers can apply for a test account to familiarize themselves with the system and the software environment offered by GWDG. This is possible because GWDG uses a unified system across all HPC systems. The test account enables you to evaluate the infrastructure and available software packages in advance before running productive workloads on the system. Booking is done via the contact form.
